Learning from Home

PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE 10 SEPTEMBER.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students, the NSW Premier announced today that stay-at-home rules are extended for specific regional areas in NSW - this included Singleton. Following updated health advice from the Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant about the growing risk to the community, stay-at-home rules will apply to all people who live in these areas.

This replaces any existing orders for regional NSW. As our school is located in one of these LGAs we will be remaining in Lockdown. This means that there will continue to be minimal supervision only on site at our school - for those students who cannot be educated at home, for example if their parent or carer is an essential worker.

All students and families will continue to be supported with learning from home materials and resources. If you are working from home, and your child is able to be educated from home, please keep them at home. We would also like to remind you to download the NSW school updates app onto your phone, if you haven't already done so - to receive the latest updates about the operational status of your child's school.

COMMUNICATION

Our main channel of communication will be via email and Facebook. Please check for regular updates. We encourage you to check these platforms at least twice a day.

We ask students to communicate with teachers via CANVAS during school hours and parents to communicate via Singleton High email: singleton-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au or through parent CANVAS only. Responses will be during school hours. If you need help sourcing or accessing technology please contact the school on 6571 1199.

CURRICULUM ACCESS

Students will access curriculum work through on-line Canvas. For students unable to access technology hard packs of work for week 10 were in the packs distributed on 6 September 2021. If you require a hard pack or further work please call us on 6571 1199 to organise pickup.

SUBMITTING COMPLETED HARD COPY WORK
