Access to Sentral

You can login at Sentral Login or request Sentral access by following these steps:

  • click Sentral Student & Parent Portal
  • then click the 'Register Here' link
  • enter your name, email, create a password
  • ensure your browser saves the password

This sends a request to Singleton High, we will then phone to authenticate you and then send you a one time use family access key.

  • once you have an access key go back to Sentral Login and enter your email, your password and the access key

If you don't see a place to enter the access key click on the menu and select Add New Access Key and copy and paste your access key. In future you will only need to use your email and password to access Sentral.

  • download the Sentral for Parents app from your device's app store

The app is essential if you want to receive timely push notifications about attendance, excursions, events and emergencies.

Sentral Functionality

The Parent Portal allows you to monitor your child’s school journey simply and efficiently from any device. The portal is browser-based so will work on any device that has an internet browser and provides you the ability to:

  • view and print timetables
  • access attendance data
  • access wellbeing entries
  • review learning plans
  • view your NAPLAN data
  • access student reports

Teachers use Sentral to evaluate student learning, aid development and help differentiate teaching to address student needs. It’s simple to create assessments and reports, it’s quick to track attendance, monitor student wellbeing and keep the communication line open with parents - which helps to create more time for teaching.

Our Digital Platforms

Singleton High uses a range of digital platforms to support teaching, learning, administration, wellbeing and communication activities.

Canvas is used for online learning.

Sentral is used for student administration by both staff, students and parents, such as timetables, wellbeing, attendance, markbook and reports.

The Sentral for Parents app provides key communication between the school and parents, such as attendance, news feeds, messaging and interviews - search for it in your app store.

Our Website provides vital information about our policies, rules, enrolment, faculties, wellbeing, parent learning groups, daily routine and extra-curricular activities.

Email is used to communicate directly to parents.

SchoolBytes is for finance, invoices, payments and organizing excursions.

Facebook showcases our learning, sporting and cultural activites through photos and videos.

Student Computer Use

Singleton High recognises the need to prepare students for a rapidly-changing world, where technology plays a large role in our personal, social and professional lives.

Singleton High School students will have the opportunity to bring their own laptop or tablet to school and connect to the DEC wireless network for the purpose of enhancing their learning.

The laptop or tablet must be able to connect to the school WiFi and have specific software or apps installed: to enable the following processes.

  • Presentation eg PowerPoint, Keynote, Slides
  • Word processing eg Word, Pages, Doc
  • Spreadsheet eg Excel, Numbers, Sheets
  • Notetaking eg OneNote, Evernote
  • Internet Browser eg Explorer, Chrome, Safari
  • Antivirus software All devices must have an active antivirus software installed. iPads and Chromebooks do not need antivirus).

Before students bring their devices to school, they will be required to sign a BYOD Student Agreement that sets out how the device can be used at school.
